The Sonex is not really an ideal cruising machine, but it’s fast enough to go places, and I have done trips to over 900 nautical miles.

Flight or Fright
This is an article that appeared in The Big Issue from October 5th to 18th 2018, written by Ricky French, my passenger to Arkaroola in 2017. It is somewhat exaggerated to entertain the non-flying (in light aircraft anyway) public, but does contain some nice home truths.

Who needs an airline when you have a Sonex? – October 2019
(Well, maybe I do some times)
The map shows most of my trips around the south eastern corner of Australia. Even 900 nautical miles looks kind of puny in Australia.
Dorian is an accomplished flyer now. He has been to Bendigo, Echuca and Lethbridge so far and doesn’t consider a flight complete unless we land at another airfield.
Not to be outdone, my grand-daughter, Harriett has been for her first flight in the Sonex.
And Stan is not quite ready for a flight but he thought a taxi and talking on the head-set was pretty good.
